Orator O'Rourke: The Life of a Baseball Radical
The life and times of baseball Hall-of-Famer Jim O'Rourke, the son of Irish immigrants who could not write their own names, but who taught him the values of thrift, hard work and clean living. He become one of the first sport superstars, playing professionally for over forty years. O'Rourke was also an umpire, team owner, league president, and practicing attorney. He earned a law degree from Yale while covering left field for the New York Giants.
